Event Participants

Prominent figures from within the university and around the world

Since its opening in 2002, the George Washington University Center for the Study of Globalization has served as a pulpit for a wide-array of speakers. Prominent figures from within the university and around the world have participated in brown bags, forums, and Globalization Week events in order to add to the dialogue the GWCSG is dedicated to supporting. Highlights include a presentation on the impact of growth on the poor given by David Dollar, World Bank Country Director for China and co-author of the preeminent paper on the topic, "Growth is Good for the Poor"; a Keynote address given by Kate Roberts, founder and director of YouthAIDS, a dynamic organization that utilizes pop culture figures to spread awareness about AIDS; and, presentations by GW professors from across the academic spectrum.
